New Entrant Reception Class

St Teresa’s is a small Catholic school with a big heart, educating learners from Years 1–8 in the Wairarapa. Guided by our vision of developing confident lifelong learners who embrace Catholic faith, and shaped by our values of Faith, Justice, Love and Humility, we are a community where tamariki are known, valued, and supported to thrive.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and fun reception classroom teacher to join our team from Term 2, 2026. This is a non-tagged position. A condition of appointment is a willingness and ability to participate in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the school.

The successful applicant will bring:

• Strong classroom practice that engages and challenges all learners.

• Relational strengths – building positive, respectful partnerships with students, staff, and whānau.

• Confidence in structured literacy and mathematics teaching, and the ability to integrate inquiry and creativity across the curriculum.

• Commitment to weaving te ao Māori and tikanga Māori into classroom life.
